George Inness

George Inness (1825–1894) was an American Tonalist landscape painter and the most influential American landscapist of the late 19th century. Strongly affected by the Barbizon School and the spiritual writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, his moody, atmospheric pastures and twilight scenes pioneered a contemplative spirituality that distinguished his work from the Hudson River School tradition he inherited. Master Canvas Art offers 5 hand-painted oil reproductions of George Inness's work.

Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
