Louis Anquetin

Louis Anquetin (1861–1932) was a French painter who, with Émile Bernard, co-developed Cloisonnism—a Post-Impressionist style of bold flat color bounded by dark contour lines influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e prints and Gothic stained glass. His vibrant depictions of Parisian street life and theatrical subjects were exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants. Later he studied the Old Masters, particularly Rubens, whose technique he explored in a book published in 1924. Master Canvas Art offers 8 hand-painted oil reproductions of Louis Anquetin's work.

Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
