François Clouet

François Clouet (c.1510–1572) was a French Renaissance painter and miniaturist, son of court painter Jean Clouet. Based in Tours, he succeeded his father as official painter to Francis I in 1540 and continued serving Henry II, Francis II, and Charles IX. Clouet was renowned for his meticulous royal and noble portraits, blending Flemish naturalism with Italian grace. His Lady in Her Bath inspired widespread imitation and established him as a pivotal figure in French Renaissance portraiture. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of François Clouet's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
