John Everett Millais

Sir John Everett Millais (1829–1896) was a British painter and illustrator who co-founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1847. A child prodigy, he entered the Royal Academy Schools at age eleven and quickly achieved recognition. The Brotherhood sought intense colour, intricate detail, and complex compositions modelled on Quattrocento Italian art. His 1851–52 painting Ophelia became one of the Pre-Raphaelite movement's most notable works. Master Canvas Art offers 22 hand-painted oil reproductions of John Everett Millais's work.
