Joseph Farquharson

Joseph Farquharson (1846–1935) was a Scottish painter chiefly of landscapes in Scotland, specializing in snowy winter scenes often featuring sheep at dawn or dusk. Born in Edinburgh, trained under leading painters including Carolus Duran, he became known for atmospheric renderings of Aberdeenshire's winter countryside. Nicknamed Frozen Mutton Farquharson for his subject matter, he famously constructed a mobile painting studio with heating and windows. Master Canvas Art offers 13 hand-painted oil reproductions of Joseph Farquharson's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
