Juan Bautista Maíno

Juan Bautista Maíno (1581–1649) was a Spanish Baroque painter and Dominican friar who served as drawing tutor to the future King Philip IV. Trained in Rome among Caravaggio's circle, he absorbed tenebrism and dramatic naturalism before returning to Spain. His religious altarpieces and historical scenes combine Caravaggio's chiaroscuro with Italian classical refinement. His Recovery of Bahia (1634–1635) stands as his emblematic work, painted for the Hall of Kingdoms at Buen Retiro Palace and now housed in. Master Canvas Art offers 13 hand-painted oil reproductions of Juan Bautista Maíno's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
