Sir Edward John Poynter

Sir Edward John Poynter (1836–1919) was an English academic painter, designer, and draughtsman who served as President of the Royal Academy. Known for large historical paintings with meticulous linear precision, Poynter was influenced by Michelangelo and the Nazarenes.
