Charles Meynier

Charles Meynier (1768–1832) was a French Neoclassical painter specializing in historical, allegorical, and mythological subjects. A student of François-André Vincent, Meynier won the Prix de Rome in 1789 alongside Anne-Louis Girodet, spending formative years studying antique sculpture in Italy before returning during the Revolution. Though overshadowed by contemporaries like David and Gros, he gained prominence through public commissions during the Napoleonic era, contributing designs to the Arc de Triomphe. Master Canvas Art offers 2 hand-painted oil reproductions of Charles Meynier's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
