Emile Alfred Dezaunay

Émile Alfred Dezaunay (1854–1938) was a French painter associated with Symbolism and the Nabis, though he adopted no single style in earnest. Born in Nantes, he studied under Jules-Élie Delaunay at the École des Beaux-Arts and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. Introduced to Pont-Aven by Maxime Maufra in 1890, Dezaunay spent summers painting with Gauguin at Le Pouldu. His distinctive technique employed swirling brushstrokes and flickering colours in portraits, seascapes and Breton landscapes. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Emile's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
