Firs Zhuravlev (1836–1901) was a Russian Realism painter known for poor and unsettled lives, unequal marriage, fate of widows, merchant life. Part of 1863 'Revolt of the Fourteen' protesting Academy's classicism emphasis; co-founder Artel of Artists cooperative; praised for 'extreme originality of subject' and 'rare mastery of performance.'.
