Francois Bocion

François-Louis David Bocion (1828–1890) was a Swiss painter, designer, and art professor known for his luminous, atmospheric Lake Geneva landscapes that captured the region's light-filled shores and seasonal moods. Born in Lausanne, he trained with Christian Gottlieb Steinlen and subsequently under Charles Gleyre in Paris, befriending Gustave Courbet and Realist circles. Returning to Lausanne (1849) to teach at the École moyenne et industrielle until death, Bocion exhibited across Paris, Vienna, and London, and co-founded the Swiss society of watercolorists (1884).

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
