Franz von Defregger

Franz von Defregger (1835–1921) was an Austrian genre painter celebrated for Tyrolean subjects and history paintings. Born in Stronach, Tyrol, he studied under Hans Makart and Gabriel Max at Munich's Piloty academy. His tonal style captures rustic street scenes, tavern interiors, and dramatic episodes from the 1809 Tyrolean uprising. Professor of history painting at the Munich Academy (1878–1910), he received Bavarian and Prussian honors. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Franz von Defregger's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
