Fritz Thaulow

Fritz Thaulow (1847–1906) was a Norwegian Impressionist painter renowned for his atmospheric studies of rivers, snowmelt, and night-lit village streets. Trained in Karlsruhe and Paris, he became the most internationally successful Norwegian landscape painter of his generation, admired equally by Monet, Degas, and the Pont-Aven circle.
