French19th Century

Henri Gervex

Henri Gervex (1852–1929) was a French Academic painter known for his worldly naturalism—a style bridging Academism and Impressionism. Trained under Alexandre Cabanel at the École des Beaux-Arts from 1871, he achieved Salon success in 1874 and earned further notoriety with his 1878 painting Rolla, which was rejected for immorality but launched his fame. In 1913, Gervex was elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Master Canvas Art offers 2 hand-painted oil reproductions of Henri Gervex's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
