Henry Hetherington Emmerson

Henry Hetherington Emmerson (1831-1895), known as H.H. Emmerson, was an English painter and illustrator acclaimed for his children's subjects. He exhibited 58 works at the Royal Academy during his lifetime, with many paintings of children reproduced as engravings and popularized commercially. He provided illustrations for children's books published by Frederick Warne & Company. Founding member and first president of the Bewick Club, a Newcastle association of painters, Emmerson was also noted as.
