Hermann Winterhalter

Hermann Fidel Winterhalter (1808-1891) was a German painter and younger brother of celebrated portrait painter Franz Xaver Winterhalter. The two brothers remained remarkably close throughout their lives, with Hermann initially assisting in his brother's Paris studio before pursuing his own career. In the family enterprise, Hermann supervised oil replica production, managed prints, arranged framing and delivery, and oversaw studio assistants. Following Franz Xaver's death in 1873, Hermann survived nearly 20 years, dying in Karlsruhe.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
