Hippolyte-Jean Flandrin

Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin (1809–1864) was a French Neoclassical painter of elegant portraits and grand historical compositions. Trained by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, he won the Prix de Rome and decorated St Germain-des-Prés with monumental sacred paintings.
