Jan Mijtens

Johannes Mytens or Jan Mijtens (circa 1614–1670) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and almost exclusively a portraitist. Born in The Hague into a family of painters—his uncles Isaac and Daniël Mijtens were both accomplished artists—Jan trained under Anthony van Opstal and Nicolas van der Horst. A member of The Hague Guild of Saint Luke from 1642, he helped establish the Confrerie Pictura, contributing to the organization of artistic life. Master Canvas Art offers 2 hand-painted oil reproductions of Jan Mijtens's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
