French15th Century

Jean Hey

Jean Hey (fl. c. 1475–1505), identified with the artist formerly known as the Master of Moulins, was an Early Netherlandish painter working in France and Burgundy. Court painter to the Dukes of Bourbon, his masterwork—the Moulins Triptych (late 15th century)—exemplifies Renaissance portraiture's refined realism. The inscription on 'Christ with Crown of Thorns' (1494, Brussels) established his identity. His style suggests study under Hugo van der Goes. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Jean Hey's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
