Jean-Jacques Hauer

Jean-Jacques Hauer (1751–1829) was a German painter active in France, associated with Neoclassicism. He is renowned for painting the portrait of Charlotte Corday in her prison cell hours before her execution during the French Revolution in 1793, while serving as an officer of the National Guard. Hauer's historical documentation of this moment became an iconic record of the period. His neoclassical style and historical subjects positioned him within the broader artistic movements of revolutionary France. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Jean-Jacques Hauer's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
