John Hoppner

John Hoppner (1758–1810) was an English Romantic-era portrait painter who served as Portrait Painter to the Prince of Wales (later George IV) and was Sir Joshua Reynolds's leading successor in fashionable London portraiture. His warm, painterly likenesses of women and children rivaled those of Lawrence and helped define the late-Georgian Grand Manner.
