József Borsos

József Borsos (1821-1883) was a Hungarian portrait painter and photographer renowned for genre scenes in the Biedermeier style. Active in Vienna and Budapest, his graceful compositions charmed aristocratic patrons before competition with photography led him to open his own studio. Master Canvas Art offers 3 hand-painted oil reproductions of Borsos's work.

Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
