Karl Gampenrieder

Karl Gampenrieder (1860–1930) was a German society portraitist trained at the Munich Academy under Gyula Benczúr and Alexander Wagner, and at the Académie Julian in Paris under William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. Based in Munich, he became sought-after for portraits of the Bavarian nobility and produced occasional still life and religious subjects.
