Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle

Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle (1831–1912) was a German portrait and genre painter who emigrated as a child to Cincinnati, where he learned copper engraving, before returning to study at the Stuttgart Art School and in Munich on a scholarship from King Wilhelm I of Württemberg. He became a sought-after court portraitist in Germany and later in Britain, where he was summoned by the Prince of Wales to paint members of the royal family. Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
