Nikolai Pimonenko

Mykola Pymonenko (1862–1912) was a Ukrainian Realist painter associated with the Peredvizhniki (Itinerants) movement. Trained at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, he is best known for warmly observed scenes of Ukrainian peasant life, weddings, country fairs, and the rhythms of village labour.
