Norwegian19th Century

Peder Balke

Peder Balke (1804–1887) was a Norwegian Romantic painter regarded as one of Scandinavia's most original landscape artists. Trained under Johan Christian Dahl at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts, Balke devoted his career to depicting the dramatic Arctic landscapes and northern light of Norway. His experimental, painterly style anticipated modern aesthetics, though his work remained largely overlooked until the 20th century. Master Canvas Art offers 2 hand-painted oil reproductions of Peder Balke's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
