Pompeo Batoni

Pompeo Girolamo Batoni (1708–1787) was an Italian Neoclassical painter and Rome's most fashionable portraitist of the eighteenth century. Based in Rome from 1727, he became internationally known for portraits of Grand Tour travellers—primarily British and Irish gentlemen—often depicting them with Italian landscapes in the background. He excelled equally in mythological and allegorical compositions, commanding prices among the highest in Europe. Master Canvas Art offers 33 hand-painted oil reproductions of Pompeo Batoni's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
