Ramon Casas y Carbó

Ramon Casas i Carbó (1866–1932) was a Catalan painter known as a portraitist documenting Barcelona's intellectual, economic and political elite. Trained at the Carolus-Duran and Gervex academies, he synthesized academic discipline with Impressionist light and colour. A graphic designer and founding figure of Catalan modernisme.
