Silvestro Lega

Silvestro Lega (1826–1895) was an Italian realist painter and a leading artist of the Macchiaioli movement. Born to an affluent Modigliana family, he studied at the Florence Academy under Benedetto Servolini. His style evolved from academic Purismo toward post-1859 realism and plein air work alongside peers Odoardo Borrani and Giuseppe Abbati. His intimate domestic scenes—especially paintings of the Batelli family children (1861–1870)—are distinguished by calm tranquility. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Silvestro Lega's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
