Theodor Recknagel

Theodor Recknagel (1865–1945) was a German portrait painter associated with the Munich School and Academism. From 1881 he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich, where he developed a specialisation in portraiture, particularly of young women and children. After 1921 he gained recognition for several portraits of Cardinal Michael von Faulhaber. His folk portraits became popular in historical and peasant interiors. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Theodor Recknagel's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
