Thomas Barker (1769–1847) was a British Romanticism painter known for rustic figures, woodmen, gypsy groups, rural genre scenes. Self-taught; patron Charles Spackman (coach-builder, Bath); exhibited RA and British Institution ~100 pictures over 50 years; 'The Woodman' sold 500 guineas; pioneer British lithography (1813 rustic series first by single artist).
