William Blair Bruce

William Blair Bruce (1859–1906) was a Canadian painter and one of Canada's first Impressionist artists. Trained in Paris, he joined the Giverny circle inspired by Monet in 1887. He and his Swedish wife established Brucebo artists' estate on Gotland, Sweden. His 1888 painting The Phantom Hunter marked career success.
