Alfred de Dreux

Alfred de Dreux (1810–1860) was a French portrait and animal painter renowned for equestrian scenes. Born into privilege and trained by Théodore Géricault and Léon Cogniet, de Dreux became synonymous with horse painting in 19th-century art. His 1831 Salon debut with Intérieur del Salon brought immediate fame, followed by equestrian portraits of nobility. He worked in the studios of Eugène Isabey and became a master of capturing aristocratic life on horseback. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Alfred de Dreux's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
