Anton Romako

Anton Romako (1832–1889) was an Austrian Realism painter known for historical portraiture, naval and military subjects, Biedermeier realism shifting to nervous expressionism. Best-known for portrait of Admiral von Tegetthoff at Battle of Lissa; teacher Waldmüller considered him talentless; died in poverty near Vienna.
