Arnold Böcklin

Arnold Böcklin (1827–1901) was a Swiss Symbolist painter born in Basel who rejected naturalism in favor of mythological and allegorical works exploring death, mortality, and fantasy. His five versions of the Isle of the Dead (1880–1886) inspired late Romantic composers and profoundly influenced Surrealists including Max Ernst and Salvador Dalí. Böcklin's imaginative reinterpretations of classical subjects, rendered with meticulous technique and luminous color, established him as a visionary bridge between Romanticism and 20th-century modernism.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
