August Riedel

August Riedel (1799–1883) was a German painter associated with the Nazarene movement and a long-term resident of Rome, where he became renowned for warmly lit portraits of Italian peasant girls and idealized female figures in folk costume. His richly colored, sun-bathed canvases were highly prized by collectors of the Italianate Romantic genre throughout German-speaking Europe. Master Canvas Art offers 5 hand-painted oil reproductions of August Riedel's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
