Benjamin Chambers Brown

Benjamin Chambers Brown (1865–1942) was a celebrated California Impressionist landscape painter. Born in Arkansas, he relocated to Pasadena after his father's death in 1896 and pioneered impressionist landscape painting in the region, specializing in Sierra peaks and wildflower fields. His primary mediums were oil, lithography, and etching. Co-founder of the Print Makers of Los Angeles (1914) and California Art Club president (1915–1916), his works are held by the Smithsonian Institution and major collections nationwide.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
