Charles Schreyvogel

Charles Schreyvogel (1861–1912) was an American painter of the vanishing Western frontier whose dramatic military scenes captured the cavalry's romance and pathos. Born in Hoboken to German immigrant shopkeepers, Schreyvogel was self-taught until visiting Buffalo Bill's Wild West show (1894) and sketching the Ute Reservation in Colorado (1893). His 1901 painting My Bunkie won the Thomas Clarke Prize at the National Academy of Design, delivering instant recognition. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproductions of Charles Schreyvogel's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
