Daniel Ridgway Knight

Daniel Ridgway Knight (1839–1924) was an American Academic Realism painter known for peasant women in pastoral and domestic settings. Studied at Pennsylvania Academy with Mary Cassatt and Thomas Eakins; lived in Poissy, France from 1872; won silver medal and Cross of Legion of Honor at 1889 Paris Exposition; competed in 1900 Olympics sailing event.
