Edward John Cobbett (1815–1899) was a British Victorian rustic school painter known for idyllic rustic scenes, children in pastoral settings. Originally a wood carver; became one of chief exponents of the rustic school popular mid-to-late 19th century; known for depictions of children and rural landscapes; exhibited 30+ years at Royal Academy.
