Elizabeth Stanhope Forbes

Elizabeth Adela Forbes (1859–1912) was a Canadian painter primarily active in the United Kingdom and the 'Queen of Newlyn' for her foundational role in the Newlyn School. After studying and working across continental Europe, she settled in Newlyn where her paintings of children—most famously School Is Out—achieved national recognition. In 1889 she married painter Stanhope Forbes; together they opened the Newlyn Art School (1899), establishing a cultural institution. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproductions of Elizabeth Stanhope Forbes's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
