Francisco Masriera y Manovens

Francesc Masriera i Manovens (1842–1902) was a Spanish figure painter and goldsmith influenced by Orientalism, born into a Catalan family of painters, set designers, and silversmiths. Trained in father's workshop, then Geneva (enamel at 13), and subsequently under Josep Serra i Porsón, he opened his studio (1871) and achieved Paris market prominence via Goupil & cie. Awarded second prize at the 1878 National Exhibition of Fine Arts for The Slave (purchased by King Alfonso XII) and a medal at Paris's 1889 Exposition Universelle, Masriera dominated the family jewelry firm Masriera y Hijos.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
