Geraldine Jacoba van Sande Bakhuyzen

Gerardina Jacoba van de Sande Bakhuyzen (1826-1895) was a 19th-century Dutch painter renowned for innovative still-life paintings, particularly florals. Born in The Hague to painter Hendrik van de Sande Bakhuyzen, she received training from her father and became one of the Netherlands' most accomplished female artists. In 1861 she received honorary membership from the Royal Academy of Amsterdam; she won numerous medals between 1870-1880 for her oil and watercolor compositions.
