Gilbert Stuart

Gilbert Stuart (1755–1828) was an American Neoclassical portraitist widely considered the nation's foremost painter of the founding era. Born in Rhode Island, he produced approximately one thousand portraits including all first six U.S. Presidents. His most famous work is an unfinished 1796 portrait of George Washington—the Athenaeum Portrait—which appears on the one-dollar bill. Stuart's likenesses defined how modern Americans visualize the Founding Fathers and revolutionary figures. Master Canvas Art offers 22 hand-painted oil reproductions of Gilbert Stuart's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
