Horace Bundy

Horace Bundy (1814–1883) was an itinerant American portrait painter and folk artist, lacking formal instruction. Beginning as a sleigh painter in New England, Bundy transitioned to portraiture to support his family of nine, travelling Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York and northern Massachusetts between 1837 and 1859. Unusually among contemporaries, he signed and dated the majority of his portraits with inscriptions documenting sitter names and locations. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Horace's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
