José Campeche y Jordán

José Campeche y Jordán (1751–1809) was the first known Puerto Rican visual artist and is considered by art critics one of the finest Rococo painters in the Americas. Born in San Juan to a freed slave father and Canarian mother, Campeche was trained by Luis Paret y Alcázar, a Spanish court painter. His pictorial legacy comprises 400 to 600 works employing colour palettes reflecting Puerto Rico's landscape and depicting the social elite. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of José Campeche y Jordán's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
