Joseph T. Pearson, Jr.

Joseph Thurman Pearson Jr. (1876–1951) was an American landscape and portrait painter, and instructor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Educated under William Merritt Chase and Julian Weir, Pearson received a Cresson Traveling Scholarship enabling study in France, Germany and Spain. His works earned multiple PAFA medals including the 1916 Temple Gold Medal and Edward T. Stotesbury Prize. He taught at PAFA for twenty-five cumulative years.
