Louis Janmot

Louis Janmot (1814–1892) was a French Symbolist painter and poet associated with the Lyon school, best known for his epic cycle "The Poem of the Soul" — eighteen paintings and sixteen drawings tracing a soul's spiritual journey through life. A pupil of Ingres, his idealized, mystical style anticipated Symbolism and made him a singular figure between Romanticism and the fin-de-siècle imagination. Master Canvas Art offers 5 hand-painted oil reproductions of Louis Janmot's work.

Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
