Nicolaes Maes

Nicolaes Maes (1634–1693) was a Dutch painter renowned for genre scenes, portraits, and religious compositions. A pupil of Rembrandt in Amsterdam, he synthesized his master's dramatic light with keen observation of domestic life. After twenty years in his native Dordrecht, he returned to Amsterdam as a leading society portraitist. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Nicolaes Maes's work.

Our promise

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
