Nicolas de Largillière

Nicolas de Largillière (1656–1746) was a French painter and draughtsman who dominated late Baroque and early Rococo portrait traditions. Apprenticed to Flemish masters and Sir Peter Lely in England, he joined the Académie royale after impressing Charles Le Brun.
